Capodimonte Museum Announces 2025 Plans with New Logo and Restorations

institutional · 2026-04-26

Eike Schmidt, the director of the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte in Naples, revealed plans for 2025 that include a fresh brand identity, the expansion of galleries, and the restoration of 20 significant artworks from the Bourbon Collection. The new logo, crafted by Magister Art, merges classical and modern styles. A group of art historians under 40 will work to reposition the museum as a center for research. Fourteen rooms will showcase porcelain, curated by Federico Forquet. Nearly 30,000 pieces will be featured when the Gabinetto disegni e stampe reopens in 2025. Restoration work on the paintings is set to commence in January 2025, alongside the launch of 'Capodimonte in scena' on December 9, 2024.
