Capodimonte masterpieces on show at Reggia di Venaria

The Reggia di Venaria presents 'Capodimonte da Reggia a Museo', a major exhibition featuring masterpieces from the Neapolitan museum. Works by Masaccio, Masolino, Colantonio, Giovanni Bellini, Mantegna, Tiziano, Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi, and Andy Warhol are on display. The show highlights the Farnese family's role in art history and ties between the Savoy and Bourbon dynasties. A room is dedicated to southern Italian painters like Francesco Solimena and Corrado Giaquinto, whose works adorned Savoy residences designed by Filippo Juvarra. Grand Tour intellectuals, notably Johann Joachim Winckelmann, are evoked. Tiziano's portraits of Pope Paul III and his nephews Alessandro and Ottavio Farnese, along with Danae (1544-45), are key loans. Other highlights include Jacopo de' Barbari's portrait of Fra Luca Pacioli (1495), Lorenzo Lotto's portrait of Bernardo de' Rossi (1505), and Warhol's Vesuvius (1985).
