festival-fair · 2026-05-19

Léa Seydoux graced the Cannes festival red carpet for the second time on Monday, showcasing her role in the competition film L'inconnue (The Unknown), directed by French filmmaker Arthur Harari. The narrative centers around a man who awakens in a woman's body. Earlier, Seydoux attended the premiere of Gentle Monster, where she portrays a pianist who gives up her career for her family. Renate Reinsve, an Oscar nominee for Best Actress in Sentimental Value, is also present at Cannes for Fjord, a competing film by Romanian director Cristian Mungiu (Palme d'Or winner in 2007 for 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). In Fjord, Reinsve stars alongside Sebastian Stan as a couple moving with their children to a remote Norwegian location, where they bond with a neighboring family and face suspicions of child abuse. Additionally, Nicolas Winding Refn's Her Private Hell, a horror set in a futuristic Tokyo featuring Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton, was screened out of competition.
