Canicula: The Third Episode of Fondazione In Between Art Film's 'Trilogy of Uncertainties' Opens in Venice

The Fondazione In Between Art Film, founded by Beatrice Bulgari, presents 'Canicula', the third and final chapter of its 'Trilogy of Uncertainties' curated by Alessandro Rabottini and Leonardo Bigazzi. Following 'Penumbra' (2022) and 'Nebula' (2024), the exhibition explores excessive light and heat as metaphors for contemporary saturation, overload, and distortion. It runs from May 6 to November 22, 2026, at the Complesso dell'Ospedaletto in Venice, coinciding with the Biennale and Koyo Kouoh's 'In Minor Keys'. The show features eight new site-specific video installations commissioned from Lawrence Abu Hamdan (Jordan, 1985), Massimo D'Anolfi (Italy, 1974) and Martina Parenti (Italy, 1972), Roman Khimei (Ukraine, 1992) and Yarema Malashchuk (Ukraine, 1993), Janis Rafa (Greece, 1984), P. Staff (UK, 1987), Wang Tuo (China, 1984), Yuyan Wang (China, 1989), and Maya Watanabe (Peru, 1983). The exhibition design is by Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli and his studio 2050+. A symposium curated by Bianca Stoppani will take place at Palazzo Grassi's Teatrino on October 26–27, 2026.
