Canicola Edizioni Turns 15 with Three New Graphic Novels
Bologna-based publisher Canicola Edizioni celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2019 with three new releases: Yvan Alagbé's 'Negri gialli e altre creature' on migration, Shin'ichi Abe's 'Un ragazzo gentile' from the gekiga manga tradition, and Kalina Muhova's 'Diana sottosopra' for the gender non-discrimination series 'Dalla parte delle bambine'. Founded in 2004, the press will mark the milestone at the BilBOlbul Festival. Alagbé's graphic novel, part of the new 'I Quindici' series, follows Claire, a white French woman, and Alain, a Beninese migrant, exploring colonial legacies. Abe's collection of eleven biographical stories from the 1970s, originally published in Garo magazine, features turbulent young bohemians. Muhova's fairy-tale-inspired book portrays a brave girl lost in a dreamlike, polluted world, promoting non-discrimination.
