Campus Reti: A Silicon Valley of Modern and Contemporary Art in Busto Arsizio
The Campus Reti in Busto Arsizio, Italy, is a pioneering urban regeneration project led by Bruno Paneghini, President and CEO of IT consulting firm Reti S.p.A. The campus, spanning nearly 20,000 square meters, is housed in a former textile factory, the Venzaghi cotton mill, preserving its industrial heritage while integrating modern workspaces, a private art collection, and public cultural spaces. Paneghini and his wife Ilenia have installed their collection of modern and contemporary art throughout the site, with about two-thirds on permanent display. The project involves architect Elena Ciapparelli and was influenced by the late artist Jorrit Tornquist (1938–2023), who advised on interior color schemes. The campus features domotics, green spaces, and an auditorium integrated with the exhibition path. Future plans include a LEED certification, a guesthouse in a restored 'case di ringhiera' (tenement buildings), and a public restaurant. The company, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange and a B Corp, celebrates its 30th anniversary with cultural events: on March 15, 2024, art historian Carlo Vanoni presents 'L'Arte è una caramella'; on March 22, Sky Arte's Nicolas Ballario and musician Rodrigo D'Erasmo (Afterhours) focus on Maurizio Cattelan. Paneghini opens the campus to the public twice a month for free guided tours.
