Campeggi's 'Salone Calmo' Showcases Transformable Design in Milan's Bicocca District

exhibition · 2026-04-26

From April 12 to 21, 2024, coinciding with miart and Salone del Mobile, the Italian design brand Campeggi presents 'Salone Calmo. A Showcase of Campeggi Objects' in Milan's Bicocca BiM district. The exhibition is a collaboration with C41, an independent magazine and creative production house, and SPECIFIC, a multidisciplinary creative laboratory comprising Patrick Tuttofuoco, Nic Bello, Alessandra Pallotta, Andrea Sala, and Stefano D'Amelio. The event is part of a larger urban regeneration project transforming the iconic building designed by architect Vittorio Gregotti (1927–2020) on the former Pirelli factory site into a social, cultural, and ecological hub by 2026. At C41's spaces, iconic Campeggi transformable pieces are displayed alongside photographs by artist Rory Gardiner, encouraging interaction. The public can also access issue #14 of C41 magazine, featuring a conversation between Giovanna Castelli, Guglielmo Campeggi, and Lorenzo Damiani, and an editorial shot by Luca A. Caizzi, photographer and C41 founder. At SPECIFIC's studios, visitors explore eclectic collectible designs (Anish, Twin, Gobbalunga, Bitta, Dynamic Life) and contemporary art installations by Patrick Tuttofuoco, Andrea Sala, Nic Bello, and Alessandra Pallotta. This marks SPECIFIC's first collaboration with design companies. Additionally, until June 30, 2024, BiM hosts 'Abbandonare il locale,' the first solo exhibition of American artist David Horvitz, curated by Nicola Ricciardi.
