Camilla Bagatti Valsecchi Named President of Milan's Museo Bagatti Valsecchi

Camilla Bagatti Valsecchi, great-granddaughter of co-founder Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi, has been appointed President of the Fondazione that manages the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan. Born in the museum building, she lived there until 1976. Since 2014, she served on the board of the Associazione Amici, focusing on youth engagement. The museum, a historic house museum, will reopen on May 6 after pandemic closures. Bagatti Valsecchi plans to emphasize the museum's identity as a home, offering insights into historical lifestyles from the Renaissance to the 20th century, alongside major exhibitions. During the pandemic, the museum launched a fundraising campaign 'Regalaci un biglietto', increased participation in grants, and created digital content like the video series 'Forsenonsapeviche'. The youth group 'Speechati', founded with her children, organizes cultural events and treasure hunts. Italy Nostra, through the Fondo Monti, funded the restoration of the library ceiling. Bagatti Valsecchi aims to expand the museum's social role, focusing on inclusion for children, youth, elderly, and disadvantaged adults, while promoting Lombard and Italian excellence in craftsmanship and design.
