Camera Tripla: Three Artists Explore Painting at Labs Contemporary Art, Bologna
Labs Contemporary Art in Bologna presents 'Camera Tripla', a group exhibition featuring Marco Emmanuele (Catania, 1986), Luca Grechi (Grosseto, 1985), and Mattia Sugamiele (Erice, 1984). The show, curated by Leonardo Regano, focuses on painting as a medium and its varied declinations. Emmanuele experiments with unconventional materials like glass powder obtained from beach debris, mixed with glue to create luminous pigments. Grechi's works, dominated by blue tones evoking sky and sea, layer signs and colors to create multiple planes of vision. Sugamiele generates an illusory game where real and virtual planes merge into a hybrid vision. Despite stylistic differences, the artists share a concept of stratification—painting that extends across physical and abstract levels, sometimes beyond the canvas. The exhibition is described as a 'work in progress', an open dialogue allowing infinite interpretive possibilities.
