CAMERA Torino Celebrates 10 Years: President Emanuele Chieli Reflects on Milestones and Future

CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia, located in Turin, marks its tenth anniversary this autumn, having been established in 2015. Housed in a historic edifice, the center boasts over 2,000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions, presenting a minimum of three significant shows each year, along with various events and educational initiatives. Under the leadership of artistic director Walter Guadagnini, the center has featured renowned photographers such as Jérôme Sessini, Antonio Ottomanelli, and Margaret Bourke-White. President Emanuele Chieli acknowledges the contributions of Piero Fassino and Lorenza Bravetta in its inception. A standout event was the 2022 exhibition of the Thomas Walther collection in collaboration with MoMA New York. Chieli highlights the center's commitment to exhibition, education, and research, aspiring to reinforce its status as Italy's premier photography hub while honoring both public and private archives.
