Cambra Buró's Plinth House: A 3,000 m² Travertine Residence on Kuwait's Coast

Completed in 2025, the Plinth House (La Casa Plinto) is a 3,000-square-meter single-family residence located on the coast of Abu Al Hasaniya, Kuwait. Designed by the architectural firm Cambra Buró under a comprehensive commission covering architecture, interior design, and landscaping, the house is structured as a dialogue between containment and expression. A sculpted travertine plinth anchors the building to the ground, while an upper volume, minimal and serene, rests upon it, deliberately sober in contrast with the base. The project was led by Alicia Cambra, with Cambra Buró as the principal architects. The design team included Miwa Negoro as curator. The residence was photographed by Kelly Tooze.
