Cambi's auction week spans Milan and Genoa with Old Masters and modern art

Italian auction house Cambi is holding a series of sales across Genoa and Milan in December 2022. In Genoa on December 14, an Old Masters auction features over 220 lots including works by Luca Giordano, Domenico Piola, Gaetano Gandolfi, and Giuseppe Recco. Highlights include Andrea Locatelli's Roman landscapes (estimate €60,000–80,000) and a Luca Giordano painting (€30,000–40,000). A focus on 17th-century Genoese masters includes Giovanni Battista Paggi, Domenico Piola, and Giuseppe Badaracco. On December 15, the sale moves to Milan for modern and contemporary art, with around 200 lots from Futurism to contemporary works. Top lot is Pablo Picasso's 1967 gouache 'Homme à la tranche de pastèque' (€250,000–350,000). Other notable works include pieces by Fortunato Depero, Giorgio De Chirico, Agostino Bonalumi, and Claudio Parmiggiani. The session closes on December 16 in Genoa with a design auction focused on private collectors, featuring Angelo Lelli, Franco Albini, Carlo Scarpa, Ico Parisi, and Gio Ponti.
