Calori & Maillard's 'Energia potenziale' transforms Reggio Emilia's ex-Officine Reggiane

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Artists Letizia Calori and Violette Maillard, known as Calori & Maillard, have unveiled their project 'Energia potenziale' under the Italian government's initiative highlighting contemporary landscapes. Hailing from Bologna and Bourg La Reine respectively, the duo's work is inspired by the Officine Reggiane site in Reggio Emilia, a historically significant locale. Curator Daniele De Luigi emphasizes its importance. The artists documented performances there alongside Santiago Calatrava’s structures, resulting in expansive posters displayed on 43 advertising billboards and 13 campaign boards. An accompanying video narrative portrays a post-apocalyptic theme featuring two flawed demigods. The exhibition is set to feature at various festivals, including Circulation(s) in Paris.
