The Calder Foundation has made the complete archive of Alexander Calder freely accessible online, coinciding with the exhibition 'Alexander Calder. Modern from the Start' at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, which runs until August 7. The digital archive includes photographs, images of artworks, documents, and previously unpublished materials, organized by artwork type (e.g., Mobiles), career phases, and document format. Interactive maps and microsites allow users to explore specific works and their exhibition histories. The initiative follows a growing trend of online archives by museums and foundations, especially during the pandemic, such as Van Gogh Worldwide (Van Gogh Museum, RKD, Kröller-Müller Museum), Operation Night Watch (Rijksmuseum), and Rethinking Guernica (Museo Reina Sofía).
