Cafe Twin: Rome motorcycle workshop opens as art space with Meccaniche

Cafe Twin, a motorcycle workshop and accessories store in Rome's Pietralata district at Via Mesula 12, has expanded into an exhibition space. Founded 15 years ago by Bruno Brunetta, the venue launched Meccaniche on February 20, 2026, a curatorial format by Gemma Gulisano and Jacopo Natoli that redefines the exhibition space. The inaugural show, Sospeso, features works by Cristiano Carotti with a DJ set by Effie Lula, open Saturdays until March 27, 2026. The workshop has two separate entrances: one for bike repairs and one for artworks, but visitors enter through the workshop to experience an unvarnished space. Gulisano states that the workshop remains unchanged to encourage dialogue between place and art. The project includes four appointments through May. Next is Rito on March 27 with Carola Spina and DJ Yulia Kachan, followed by Guendalina Urbani, collective Gestione Motrice Romana Gioie e Piaceri, Jacopo Natoli, and Desirè D'Angelo in April and May. The space was formerly an industrial complex for oxygen cylinder production.
