Cabin-out 2.0: Philosophical Huts on Ortigia Island
The exhibition 'Cabin-out 2.0 | Dentro la capanna' explores existential dissatisfaction through four symbolic huts on Ortigia, Sicily, referencing the retreats of philosophers Thoreau and Wittgenstein, mathematician Ted Kaczynski, and architect Le Corbusier. Curated by philosopher Leonardo Caffo and architect Valentina Pappalardo, the project features the Hut of Introspection near Castello Maniace, the Hut of Retreat floating on the Grand Harbour, the Hut of War inside the restored former convent of San Francesco in via Gargallo, and the Hut of Simplicity at the Accademia delle Belle Arti Rosario Gagliardi. The itinerary is designed as a journey of introspection and sharing. The exhibition is realized in collaboration with Made Program of the Accademia di Belle Arti Rosario Gagliardi, curatorial platform Waiting Posthuma, Maniace Ortigia, and the Assessorato alla Cultura of the City of Siracusa.
