Ca' Foscari University's SMATH Project Places Artists in Venetian Companies
The SMATH initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Management at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, places six artists within various companies in Veneto to promote innovation through artistic residencies. This project, which is funded by the Interreg Med 2014-2020 program, is a component of the "Smart Atmospheres" initiative, with the Veneto Region as the primary partner. Fabrizio Panozzo, the scientific director, highlights that the "Art Thinking" approach seeks to weave artistic creativity into business operations. Participating artists include Kensuke Koike at Contarina spa, D20 Art Lab at Electrolux spa, Špela Volčič with Pane Quotidiano, Studio Tonnato at F/Art, Teoria&Preda with Gv3 Venpa spa, and Alessio Ballerini and Simona Sala at Verlata. Panozzo emphasizes the difficulties companies encounter in achieving long-term integration and recognizes the advantages for both the firms and the artists.
