exhibition · 2026-04-22

Bvlgari presents its traveling exhibition Serpenti Infinito at Art House within the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai from October 1 to 17, 2025. The exhibition examines the snake as a mythological symbol across cultures, with a focus on India's nāga figures. Curated by Indian gallery Nature Morte with artistic director Sean Anderson, the show features three thematic chapters: 'Crafting Serpents in History', 'A Mythic Presence', and 'Infinite Transformation'. These sections display Bvlgari's Heritage, High Jewellery, and Timepiece collections alongside historical objects and contemporary artworks. The exhibition includes pieces from Bvlgari's archives and works by artists such as Amit Dombhare, Baua Devi, Rithika Merchant, LN Tallur, Harshit Agrawal, Pors and Rao, and Subodh Gupta. Nature Morte co-director Aparajita Jain notes India's ancient relationship with serpent symbols, referencing Harappan seals. The show highlights Bvlgari's Tubogas technique, inspired by snake scales, and explores the brand's historical connection to India through gem trade and lapidary traditions. Serpenti Infinito previously appeared in Seoul and Shanghai in 2025, aligning with the Year of the Snake. The Mumbai edition emphasizes South Asian perspectives, showcasing how snakes symbolize fertility, wisdom, protection, and transformation in various Indian belief systems including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.
