Bvlgari Boutique in Milan Hosts Alighiero Boetti Tapestry Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-26

From October 17 to 27, 2024, the Bvlgari boutique at Via Gesù 4 in Milan presents "PARLAMI," an exhibition of tapestries by Alighiero Boetti (Turin 1940–Rome 1994), organized in collaboration with Galleria Glauco Cavaciuti. Boetti, a key figure in Arte Povera who later diverged from the movement, has seen renewed attention in recent years due to record auction sales of his works. The exhibition features iconic embroidered pieces with colorful letters forming unconventional phrases and mottos, including "Nero su bianco e bianco su nero," "Un’idea brillante," "Attirare l’attenzione," "Cinque x cinque venticinque," "Ordine e Disordine," and "Niente da nascondere." Bvlgari draws a parallel between the brand and Boetti, both driven by a desire to revolutionize aesthetic canons through creativity and imagination. The artist's concept of duality is highlighted—he legally changed his name to Alighiero e Boetti in 1973, embodying two opposing yet inseparable identities. Boetti's works deconstruct language into autonomous letters, challenging social conventions and inviting viewers to move around and engage actively. The brand states that Boetti and Bvlgari represent distinct but complementary worlds in Italian art and design, united by a strong sense of identity and culture.
