In Melbourne, Buxton Contemporary showcases a bilingual exhibition that explores the rise of conceptualism in Chinese contemporary art from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. This exhibition features restaged pieces, archival resources, and a fresh commission by Darcey Bella Arnold, an artist based in Melbourne. Expanding on two previous exhibitions centered on the New Measurement Group from Beijing and conceptual artist Qian Weikang from Shanghai, this display includes new research and reconstructions of historical works by these artists, marking their debut in Australia. The exhibition is open from 1 May to 3 October 2026.
