Burnley House by Sonelo Architects Completed in 2022 as Urban Infill in Australia
Burnley House, designed by Sonelo Architects, was completed in 2022 in a medium-density Australian suburb. This urban infill project replaces former terrace houses within a row of townhouses, featuring a tranquil interior with robust materials, unexpected sky views, and access to greenery. The 162 m² house is sheltered behind hit-and-miss brickwork. The team included Wilson Tang, Elodie Lim, Cassandra Chin, and Jas Johnston, with collaboration from Ample Architecture. Engineering was handled by Co-Struct, while Greg Scott Constructions served as the builder. Landscape design was provided by Amanda Oliver Gardens, and photographs were taken by Pier Carthew. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro.
