Buongiorno Ceramica expands to eight European countries in 2017

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

Buongiorno Ceramica!, the three-day event dedicated to ceramic craftsmanship, will take place from June 2 to 4, 2017, across 36 Italian cities and for the first time in eight European countries: Spain, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Malta. Organized by AiCC (Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica), the event features over 300 simultaneous activities in Italy, including open kilns, workshops, and studio visits. President Stefano Collina noted the strong response in Italy led other nations to host local editions under names like Hola Ceramica!, Guten Morgen Keramik!, and Bongu Ceramika!. Concurrently, from May 30 to July 15, 2017, the ISIA in Faenza will host a Summer School with workshops open to students and the public. Instructors include Salvatore Arancio, one of the few Italian artists invited to the 2017 Venice Biennale, where he presented a ceramic installation and video; fashion designer Claudia Mahler, former head designer at Jean-Paul Gaultier and Moschino; photographer and university teacher Laura Liverani; and ISIA faculty members Micro Denicolò and Silvia Cogo. Faenza is home to the MIC (Museo Internazionale della Ceramica), the world's most important ceramics museum.
