Bulgarian Pavilion at 61st Venice Biennale presents 'The Federation of Minor Practices' as fictional research lab

The Bulgarian Pavilion, curated by Martina Yordanova, will debut on May 9, 2026, at the 61st Venice Biennale of Art. This installation serves as a fictional research laboratory that investigates political futures centered on care. In light of Bulgaria's political turmoil and the upcoming elections on April 19, 2026, four Bulgarian artists—Veneta Androva, Gery Georgieva, Maria Nalbantova, and Rayna Teneva—have crafted this immersive space. An all-female team of ten collaborators contributes to the project, which showcases four video installations and a gamified experience. Visitors can interact with themes of Care, Fear, and Power. The exhibition will be open until November 22, 2026, at Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli in Venice, with an opening reception on May 7.
