Buildner Announces Winners of 6th Annual Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial Competition

Buildner has revealed the winners of its 6th Annual Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial Competition, which seeks designs for memorials at former nuclear test sites, in alignment with the 2017 UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The top honor was claimed by Hamzeh Ahmad Hasan Al-thweib from Jordan for his work titled 'The Suspended Seconds.' The second place went to Andreea-Mihaela Nicolae and her team from Aecom EC Romania for 'Below The Unseen.' Frederic Gapinski from New Zealand secured third place with 'The Silence Beneath.' The Buildner Student Award was presented to Tất Sĩ Minh Lê and his team from Ho Chi Minh City Architecture University for 'The Remains, the Sound and the Wound.' Honorable mentions were given to entrants from Indonesia, Hungary, Portugal, the United States, and Ukraine. The next silent competition by Buildner will close on 18 June 2026.
