Buildner Announces Winners of 4th Home of Shadows Competition
Buildner has revealed the outcomes of its fourth annual Home of Shadows architecture competition, which emphasizes residences that do not rely on artificial lighting. The judging panel featured Fernanda Canales, Sarah Broadstock, Sandra Baggerman, Nikita Morell, Thongchai Chansamak, Patcharada Inplang, Jason deCaires Taylor, and Ignacio Laguillo. The top honor was claimed by Taekhoon Lee from South Korea for his design 'Below Shadows,' a partially underground home. The second place went to Marc Izaguerri Serrano from the UK for 'LAVA,' while David Costantino Cirocchi from Spain took third for 'What is the shape of light?'. The Buildner Sustainability Prize was awarded to Alexander Fong Kit Kindlen-Cheung from Austria for 'Ikara-Flinders House,' and the Student Award was given to a team from Münster School of Architecture for 'Light of the Site.'
