Bugatti Unveils One-Off Destrier Hypercar, a Refined Bolide for the Road

other · 2026-08-07

Ahead of its public introduction at Monterey Car Week, Bugatti has introduced the Destrier, a unique hypercar that utilizes the chassis of the Bolide but boasts a more elegant design. This marks the third tailored model from Bugatti's Programme Solitaire, following the Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage. While it retains the Bolide's powerful 1,578 hp quad-turbo W16 engine, it forgoes the aggressive aerodynamic features. Inspired by medieval warhorses, it showcases a custom Sapphire Celeste finish and an enlarged horseshoe grille. Inside, it features brown 'Ambre Voyageur' leather and a 3-D knitted textile with copper accents. The Destrier will be showcased at The Quail on August 14 and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16. Frank Heyl, Bugatti's design director, emphasized that the car's proportions are intended to be appreciated as pure art, suggesting it will be a fixture at concours events for years to come. Notably, it stands at just 3 feet tall, mounted on 20- and 21-inch wheels.
