Buffalo Trace Revives Two Rare E.H. Taylor Bourbons as Limited Releases
Buffalo Trace has revealed the return of two sought-after Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. bourbons: Four Grain and Cured Oak. The Four Grain, which debuted in 2017, will now be released annually as a limited edition, while Cured Oak, first introduced in 2015, is now a rare offering. The latest Four Grain, distilled in 2015, has been aged for 10 years, making it younger than its predecessors. It features a mashbill comprising corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley. Master distiller Harlen Wheatley referred to it as a "graduated experiment." Cured Oak, aged for 10 years in barrels with staves air-dried for 13 months, aims to provide enhanced depth and complexity. Both bourbons are bottled-in-bond at 100 proof and retail for $80 each, with Four Grain available at the distillery, Sazerac House Gift Shop, and select Kentucky and Louisiana retailers, while Cured Oak can be found in liquor stores across the country.
