Budapest's Chimera-Project Hosts 'Protocol' Exhibition Redefining Drawing Through Diverse Media

exhibition · 2026-04-22

From January 29 to March 6, 2015, Chimera-Project in Budapest presented 'Protocol,' an exhibition challenging conventional definitions of drawing. Róbert Németh's 'Untitled (2015)' used UV light and motion sensors to create trompe l'oeil curtains that vanished upon close inspection. András Wahorn incorporated Post-it note sketches from his Los Angeles period (1994-2001) into larger works like 'Meditation (2001)' and 'Something Inside the Head (2001).' Péter Koppányi contributed iridescent graphite pseudo-photograms, while Erika Baglyas offered narrative pieces such as 'Training Camp 3 (2014).' Delphine Pouillé's video 'Umbilical Parade (2012)' documented a performance in Taipei where raincoat-clad figures connected by tubes formed a moving line through city streets. The exhibition explored drawing's ephemeral nature through diverse media including performance, video, and interactive installations.
