bucci quentin Transforms Historic Florentine Villa Wing into Light-Filled Home

Florentine and Zurich-based practice bucci quentin has completed Arcipressi, a renovation of a residential wing of a historic villa in Florence. The 150-square-meter home overlooks the garden of Villa Fabbricotti and the park of the Stibbert Museum. Sara Bucci and Costanza Quentin, who founded the practice in 2022, focused on attuning the existing fabric to its landscape. The clients, a couple with a young daughter, emphasized sustainability and local craftsmanship. All furniture is custom-designed by local artisans in Florence and Fiesole. Materials include oak joinery, 4cm Carrara marble slabs (Canaloni white) cut by A. Nannini di Carlo Nannini, and Listone Giordano oak herringbone parquet. The kitchen features white-painted exposed timber beams. A concrete and steel staircase was ground to reveal aggregate. Bathrooms have green lacquered cabinetry, MIPA terrazzo, and Guarducci Mario Srl stonework. Artemide Dioscuri wall lamps are used. An existing orangerie was restored as a steel and glass pavilion in sage green. The project includes a 45-square-meter terrace and 500-square-meter garden. Design took place from May 2022 to November 2023, with construction from December 2024 to February 2026.
