Buc-ee's Port Lavaca store to become 7-Eleven with Laredo Taco Company
In Port Lavaca, Texas, a Buc-ee's convenience store at 2318 W. Main St., which has been around for 26 years, is going to be converted into a 7-Eleven that will also feature a Laredo Taco Company restaurant. Derrick Smith, who oversees the City of Port Lavaca's Building and Standards Commission Board, received a notification about this change from a sign company on March 16. This store, known as Store No. 12, represents the earlier, smaller Buc-ee's format before the brand grew into larger travel centers in 2003. This will be the city's third 7-Eleven, joining others that have transitioned from Buc-ee's in places like Lake Jackson and El Campo. Currently, Texas has about 1,460 7-Eleven locations, with around 500 hosting Laredo Taco Company. Buc-ee's has 36 stores in Texas and plans to add two more by 2027. No permits for construction have been submitted yet, and there's no timeline for the changeover.
