BTS's V Reveals Hearing Loss Battle During World Tour

On Wednesday's livestream, V, a member of BTS, shared that he has been undergoing treatment for hearing loss in his right ear for approximately two and a half years. The 30-year-old artist, known as Kim Tae-hyung, mentioned that his right ear's hearing is only at 30%, while his left ear is fully functional at 100%. He first became aware of the problem during his military service but initially thought it was just a mental challenge. Currently, V is on medication and visits the hospital regularly. This revelation comes as BTS embarks on their Arirang World Tour, their first in years, following the completion of military service by all seven members. The tour began in April in South Korea and has recently concluded shows in Baltimore, Maryland. During the livestream, Jungkook, another band member, talked about managing a shin injury, revealing he was close to developing a stress fracture. The tour will proceed to cities such as Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Sydney, and Hong Kong. V served in the military from 2023, being discharged in June 2025. In South Korea, all able-bodied men must complete 18 months of military service, which includes BTS members who began enlisting in 2022.
