BTS member RM honored as art sponsor of the year by Arts Council Korea for patronage

RM, the rapper from South Korean boyband BTS, has been designated an 'art sponsor of the year' by the Arts Council Korea, a state-run body, acknowledging his contributions to art patronage. His donation of 100 million won last year supported the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul. BTS has expanded its engagement with the art world internationally, including participation in curator Hans Ulrich Obrist's 'infinite's exhibition' do it (around the world) in August, a project where artists provide conceptual instructions for artworks. Earlier in 2020, the band initiated a global project featuring installations by Antony Gormley, Ann Veronica Janssens, and Tomás Saraceno, reflecting themes of 'love and care'. This recognition highlights RM's individual philanthropic efforts within the group's broader cultural initiatives.
