Bruxelles Design September 2016: Arts & Crafts Debuts, Galleries and Studios Open Citywide
Bruxelles Design September 2016, running until September 30 across multiple venues, introduces a new Arts & Crafts section spotlighting craftsmanship and a special collaboration with design galleries. The festival, directed by Roel Rijssenbeek, hosts over 100 events, positioning Brussels as a design capital. Designer Xavier Lust, a Compasso d'Oro winner known for metal deformation, opens his home and studio. The Jespers house, built by Victor Bourgeois for sculptor Oscar Jespers in 1928, hosts Casimir's retrospective of thirteen pieces. Young talents like the New Belgians (Frédérique Ficheroulle, Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte, PaulinePlusLuis, Romy di Donato, Valentin Van Ravestyn) showcase material explorations.
