festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The 15th edition of Brussels Gallery Weekend took place from September 8 to 11, 2022, featuring 47 galleries and approximately 125 artists. The main venue was the former printing house of the National Bank of Belgium, transformed for large-scale works. Highlights included sculptures by Maria Zahle (Arcade Gallery), works by Christiane Blattmann (Damien & The Love Guru), and a neon piece by Enrique Ramirez (Michel Rein). New participating galleries included Belgian Gallery Brussels, Peau de l'ours, Marra\Nosco, Rossicontemporary, and Schönfeld Gallery. The Generation Brussels exhibition, now in its fifth year, showcased 12 emerging local artists, including Anaïs Chabeur and Mary Szydlowska, focusing on themes of care. Italian artists Serena Fineschi and Loredana Longo presented 'Break' at Montoro12 Gallery, with about 30 mixed-media works exploring conflict and regeneration. At Dauwens & Beernaert Gallery, Marco De Sanctis and Joost Pauwaert collaborated on 'Sturm und Drunk', addressing gravity and density in sculpture. The event underscores Brussels' role as a contemporary art hub, attracting collectors from Belgium, neighboring countries, England, and the US.
