Bruno Racine Appointed Director of Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana in Venice
Francois Pinault has selected Bruno Racine to lead Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana in Venice, with Racine taking over from Martin Bethenod in March 2020. Bethenod, who has managed the Pinault collections in Venice since 2010, will transition to direct the Bourse de Commerce museum in Paris, scheduled to open in June 2020. Racine brings a deep background in cultural leadership, having served as president of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France from 2007 to 2016 and previously as president of the Centre Georges Pompidou for five years, where he curated contemporary art exhibitions. His experience also includes directing the Académie de France in Rome at Villa Médicis from 1997 to 2002, and he has authored numerous works on Italy.
