Bruno Munari and Maria Montessori: A Tactile Exhibition in Ancona
The Museo Tattile Statale Omero in Ancona presents a groundbreaking exhibition pairing Bruno Munari and Maria Montessori for the first time. Curated by Fabio Fornasari, the show explores touch as a learning tool through thematic sections on forms, materials, and tactile narratives. It includes over 100 works by Munari, including tactile boards and sculptures, and a reconstructed Montessori classroom with sensory materials. The exhibition, organized with the Municipality of Ancona, Fondazione Chiaravalle Montessori, and Associazione Bruno Munari, has received a medal from President Sergio Mattarella. A January 2020 international conference will launch the catalogue by Corraini edizioni. The 2020 centenary of Montessori's birth will be celebrated with initiatives including a reopened Casa Museo focused on tactility.
