Bruna Esposito's 'Oro Colato NML' debuts at No Man's Land in Abruzzo
No Man's Land, the foundation in Contrada Rotacesta, Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo, founded by Yona Friedman, Mario Pieroni, and Dora Stiefelmeier (Zerynthia) to create a democratic art space, has added 'Oro Colato NML', a new installation by Bruna Esposito. The unveiling coincided with 'Cantiere Aperto III', a festival of art, music, and poetry curated by Zerynthia and Bellezza Resistente, promoted by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura. The festival featured performances by Samuele Gambino, Camillo De Felice, Karima 2G, GNUČČI (Ana Rab), The Blues Against Youth, Gincana, and Daniele Sciolla. The site already hosts works by Alberto Garutti, Yona Friedman and Jean-Baptiste Decavèle, Alvin Curran, Gülsün Karamustafa, Jimmie Durham, Fabrice Hyber, Michelangelo Lupone and Licia Galizia, Donatella Spaziani, and Leonid Tishkov. Esposito's piece is a hammock made of semi-transparent black fabric filled with hay, with cowbells underneath, intended to be experienced rather than understood, described by the artist as 'reasoned instinct or instinctive reasoning'.
