Brooklyn's Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower banking hall to become Casa Tua food court
The historic marble-lined banking hall of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower at One Hanson Place in Brooklyn, completed in 1929 and designed by Halsey, McCormack & Helmer, will be transformed into an elevated food and beverage court by Miami-based hospitality brand Casa Tua, in partnership with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (BSE), owner of the Barclays Center. BSE purchased the ground floor, mezzanine, and basement of the tower in 2024. Renderings show the interior intact with new furniture, bar accoutrements, and large trees flanking the bar area. The space will feature a large central bar and lounge, with private dining and event spaces on the lower level. Casa Tua Cucina will offer theatrical open kitchens, lively aperitivo bars, and a curated fine goods market. The project aims to extend BSE's presence beyond the Barclays Center. Casa Tua cofounder Miky Grendene emphasized respect for the landmark building. The space is set to open in 2027, with more design details to be announced. The development is expected to benefit from nearby high-rises by Beyer Blinder Belle, Alloy Development, Studio Gang, and TenBerke.
