Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair Debuts at Powerhouse Arts

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair, a new independent fair dedicated to art prints, will debut at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn from March 27 to 30, 2025. The fair is organized by Powerhouse Arts, a non-profit artist factory that opened in spring 2025 in the former 'Batcave' of Gowanus, a repurposed hydroelectric plant. The venue was renovated by Herzog & De Meuron and offers affordable studios for ceramics, woodworking, metalworking, public art, and a print shop. In 2023, printer Luther Davis was appointed director of the internal typography. The fair positions itself as an alternative to the established IFPDA Print Fair, held since 1987 at Park Avenue Armory. It will feature 75 exhibitors, mostly US-based, with participants from South Africa and Austria. Entry is $15 per day, with workshops and demonstrations including lithographic printing and a talk comparing prints and posters. Notable participants include Du-Good Press, a Brooklyn-based silkscreen studio run by African American women, Praise Shadows Art Gallery, which mentors young talent, and Crow's Shadow Institute for the Arts, a non-profit supporting Native American artists since 1992.
