Bronzi di San Casciano in mostra al Quirinale

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Twenty bronze statues discovered last October at the sanctuary of San Casciano dei Bagni, Siena, are now on public display for the first time at Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome. The find, comparable to the Riace bronzes, includes perfectly preserved statues, personal objects, and gold coins. Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano secured a museum venue by purchasing the 16th-century Palazzo dell'Arcipretura in San Casciano. The exhibition, 'Gli Dèi ritornano. I bronzi di San Casciano,' runs from June 23 to July 25 and September 2 to October 29, with tickets at €1.50 and mandatory reservation five days in advance. The display traces history from the Bronze Age to the Imperial era, featuring over twenty statues, thousands of bronze coins, and anatomical ex-votos, with inscriptions in Etruscan and Latin preserved by the warm thermal waters.
