Bronze statue to honor Franco Battiato and Lucio Dalla in Milo, Sicily
The Pro Loco of Milo, with patronage from UNPLI, the Municipality of Milo, and the Etna Park, and approval from the Battiato family, is commissioning a life-size bronze statue of musicians Franco Battiato and Lucio Dalla. The statue, designed by Gianfranco La Pira, will be installed in Piazza Belvedere. Battiato moved to Milo in the late 1980s, followed by Dalla, and their friendship turned the town into a musical hub. A previous bronze effigy of Dalla by Carmelo Susinni was temporarily displayed in 2020. The new monument aims to celebrate their bond and legacy.
