Broissin Architects suspends five-meter ring for indoor waterfall installation
Broissin Architects has completed an interior project called 'Between Sky and Water,' which features a striking five-meter-wide steel ring that forms a continuous waterfall. This impressive structure, weighing about one ton, is delicately suspended by slender steel columns and tension cables anchored to solid foundations, giving it a light, airy look. A concealed hydraulic system pumps water into a basin inside the ring, letting gravity create a gentle flow that enhances the sound and feel of the 312.17 square meter space. The design includes curved gypsum-board walls coated in Chukum and matte porcelain flooring, along with plants intended for reuse in upcoming projects. The project took four weeks, starting with site prep and recycling materials. The design team consists of lse Guzmán Heredia, Emmanuel Ríos Castrejón, Valeria Andrade, and Gustavo Mata, with submission edits by Christina Vergopoulou for designboom’s DIY section.
