British Museum video details lost-wax bronze casting process
The British Museum has released a video on its YouTube channel demonstrating the lost-wax technique for bronze sculpture. Filmed at Bronze Age London's sculpture workshops, the video was produced for the museum's recent exhibition "Rodin and the art of Ancient Greece," which closed at the end of July. The exhibition explored the relationship between Auguste Rodin (1840–1917) and classical heritage, juxtaposing Rodin's sculptures with Parthenon marbles and other Greek and Roman works from the artist's personal collection.
