British Library Appoints Rachel Calderón as Senior Director of Development

The British Library has revealed that Rachel Calderón will be taking on the role of Senior Director of Development. In this position, she will oversee the Library's philanthropy team, with the goal of increasing support for this prominent cultural and research institution. Calderón previously worked at Blood Cancer UK as the Associate Director of Fundraising. Before that, she dedicated a decade to senior fundraising positions at King's College London, where she played a key role in the £500 million 'World questions | King's answers' campaign, which attracted significant philanthropic funding for research and education. Calderón expressed her enthusiasm about joining the British Library during a crucial time as it aims to redefine its national library role and revamp its facilities in London and Yorkshire. Her hiring highlights the Library's dedication to strengthening its philanthropic initiatives and broadening its influence.
