British Council's Third Culture Salon Tackles Cultural Sector Survival

On September 15, 2020, the British Council unveiled its UK/Italy 2020 Season titled 'Being Present.' This initiative showcases digital projects such as 'Scene for Survivals' in collaboration with Triennale di Milano and the BBC, alongside a Willie Doherty exhibition presented with Fondazione Modena Arti Visive and Ulster Museum Belfast. The season features three virtual Culture Salons: 'Creative Independents: Securing Our Future' on September 25, 'Culture for Resilience: Cities & Festivals Looking Ahead,' and 'New Business Approaches to Culture' scheduled for November 4 at 3pm. Notable speakers include Caroline Meaby, Federica Olivares, and others. Jane Costello mentioned that the program was initially developed in 2018 and reimagined in May 2020, emphasizing environmental concerns, youth engagement, and the significance of cultural institutions.
