British Anti-Terror Police Arrest French Publisher Ernest Moret at London Book Fair

On Monday, British anti-terrorism authorities detained Ernest Moret, the foreign rights manager for the leftist French publishing house La Fabrique, as he arrived at London St Pancras station from Paris via Eurostar to participate in the London Book Fair, which commenced today. He was reportedly questioned without legal representation regarding alleged possession of terrorist materials or involvement in terrorist activities. La Fabrique indicated that the police's rationale for the interrogation stemmed from Moret's supposed involvement in ongoing protests against President Macron's pension reforms in France. Moret was meant to attend a reception at the French Institute, where the French ambassador would be present, and his colleagues planned a protest during the event. La Fabrique, which publishes notable authors like Jacques Rancière and Giorgio Agamben, mentioned that Moret had over thirty meetings scheduled for the week and a return ticket booked for Friday.
