Bright Festival Returns to Florence with Digital Art and Electronic Music
After three editions in Germany, the Bright Festival returns to Florence from April 28 to 30, 2023, across two venues: Stazione Leopolda and The Social Hub. The festival, founded in 2019, is organized by a team of young professionals including Claudio Caciolli, Teresa Balestrieri, Luciano D’Agostini, and Gian Paolo Dei. It features four sections: a training area with 22 speakers, over 10 universities, and 30 hours of workshops; an exhibition area curated by Caciolli and Stefano Fomasi (The Fake Factory) with five thematic zones (immersive, interactive, multimedia, light art, virtual reality), 32 international artists, and 16 digital installations; an immersive art show by 22 Italian digital art studios with 45-minute 360° projections; and a music night on April 29 with performances by Adana Twins (Germany), Kid Simius (Spain), Markyz (Serbian-born, Florence-based), and Weg (Italian based in Berlin), each accompanied by visual art by Alice Felloni. A Bright Pro section in collaboration with Panasonic explores new technologies. The festival has previously held events in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Leipzig, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Athens, and Lyon, with support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
