Bright Brussels 2024: Light Festival Illuminates Belgian Capital

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Bright Brussels, one of Europe's most captivating light festivals, returns to the Belgian capital from February 15 to 18, 2024. The event, organized by Visit.Brussels, features sixteen monumental light installations by national and international artists, set in the historic city center. For four evenings, the Royal Route near the Royal Palace and the European Route in the European Quarter will be animated with light displays, special effects, videomapping, and lasers. This year, in honor of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, some works are dedicated to the colors and metaphorical representation of EU values such as democracy, equality, and peace. A new section for children debuts, with lights, activities, and games. Ursula Jone Gandini, director of the Brussels Tourism Office in Italy, describes the festival as one of Brussels' most evocative events, involving shops, restaurants, and museums that host side events and installations, all energy-sustainable.
