Bridge Art Residency in Sicily Presents Installations and a Film on Landscape and Electromagnetic Waves
The Bridge Art residency in Noto, Sicily, recently concluded with an exhibition at C.U.M.O. (Consorzio Universitario Mediterraneo Orientale). Among the showcased artists were Andrea Abbatangelo, Anto Milotta, and Zlatolin Donchev. Abbatangelo presented 'Papaver Rhoeas,' a circular sculpture made from local clay, designed as a 'Democratic Refuge' for plants, with terracotta elements resembling vertebrae to connect earth and sky. Milotta and Donchev created a simple antenna to capture ghost electromagnetic signals, resulting in an experimental film depicting antennae as modern totems. Collaborating with INAF, ERO, and others, they explored art's community role through Antonio Arévalo's 'Diccionario' workshop. The exhibition also highlighted works by alumni and took place in a historic 14th-century convent.
