Brett Whiteley Studio reopens after extensive renovations in Surry Hills
The Art Gallery of New South Wales has reopened the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills following major building upgrades. The studio, located in the artist's final home and workspace, offers an intimate view of Brett Whiteley's (1939–1992) life and practice, with artworks, objects, and ephemera reinstalled as he left them. The three-storey former warehouse renovation was delivered by an award-winning Australian architectural firm. The reopening took place on Saturday 25 July, preserving the spirit of one of Australia's most significant artist's studios.
